CARE ACCESS Health Plan Representatives Meet with CFO Alex Sink on Covering the Uninsured

Care Access Health Plan, a South Florida based health care company that focuses on providing health care coverage to the uninsured with comprehensive preventive coverage at affordable rates, had two key corporate representatives in Tallahassee this past week to meet with the State’s Chief Financial Officer Alex Sink regarding the growing number of Florida citizens who are uninsured.

CFO Sink told Care Access in the meeting that one of her major goals is to reduce the now almost 20%, of state citizens who have no health care coverage by increasing the availability on affordable health insurance. “The financial burden that being uninsured places on our health care system is of critical importance to all Floridians and one which we are hoping to address in the coming months,” Sink said.

She told Care Access Health Plan President Jerry Sternstein that she expects to be active in helping to find a marketplace solution to the uninsured problem in Florida.

As South Florida has one of the highest rates of uninsured, the Care Access Health Plan officials met with the CFO having heard of her interest in working with the Governor and other cabinet members, as well as the legislature to find a marketplace solution to the problem of the uninsured.

Sink thanked Care Access officials for sharing their concerns, and for working to cover the uninsured in South Florida through the open and free marketplace; and said she “would be working with the Insurance Consumer Advocate and insurance companies to continue to help bring low cost/affordable and quality heath care solutions to more Florida residents”.
