The Care Access Health Plan is often paired with Supplemental Hospital plans from select carriers. Two types of Supplemental Hospital Plans are popular; Defined Hospital Benefits and Catastrophic Hospital Coverage. When combined with the Care Access Health Plan, they offer consumers a cost-effective alternative to traditional HMOs and insurance programs.
Defined Hospital Benefits:
A defined benefit plan pays the patient directly a specified amount per day when he/she is in the hospital. The patient may use the dollars however he/she sees fit.
Catastrophic Hospital Coverage:
A catastrophic plan pays the hospital directly for all, or a percentage of, covered hospital costs.These two (2) different types of Supplemental Hospital Plans afford Care Access members the maximum amount of flexibility to design a program that meets their needs within their budget.
