I am pleased to inform you that the College has once again successfully arranged for students to enroll in an optional low-cost health care coverage plan. We all know that access to affordable health care coverage is a topic of national concern and it is with great pride that we make this coverage available. Of course, of particular concern this year is the flu outbreak and this option will assist our students with those concerns.

This optional coverage, which will be offered through the Care Access Health Plan, provides all important comprehensive preventive and routine health care services (e.g. primary and specialist care, urgent care, prescription medication/drug benefit) to all students and their dependents, with special rates for Miami Dade College. A supplemental rider offers in-hospital medical coverage as well.

During the next few weeks, Care Access representatives will be available on campus to meet with you and explain the benefits in detail.
